CeeVi is a resume builder. This page says what it collects, what it does not, and who else can see your information. It describes how the product actually works rather than reserving every right we might one day want.

The short version

  • Your resume is stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
  • It leaves your device only when you use an AI feature or upload a CV, and then only to be processed and returned.
  • We keep no record of who our users are beyond what is needed to know whether you have paid.
  • We never sell your data, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Your resume

Everything you type into the editor is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not uploaded, and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data deletes it, and we have no copy to restore.

There are two exceptions, both of which happen only when you ask for them:

  • AI features. When you use the AI review, draft a summary, or run a job match, the relevant part of your resume is sent to Google to be processed and returned. We do not store what is sent or what comes back.
  • Uploading a CV. The file is read on our server to extract its text, and that text is sent toGoogle to be sorted into fields. The file itself is never saved to disk and is discarded once the request finishes.

Signing in

Signing in uses your Google account. Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture. These are placed in an encrypted session cookie in your browser and are not written to any database of ours — there is no user table, and no list of people who have signed up.

Signing out clears the cookie. Your resume stays in your browser and is still there next time.

If you buy Premium

Paying creates the only lasting record we hold about you:

  • Your email address, the date your access ends, and whether it came from a payment or an invite code. This is deleted about a week after access expires.
  • A count of how many AI reviews you have used today, which resets daily.
  • The reference number of each payment, kept for 60 days so the same payment is never applied twice.

Payments are handled by Paystack. Your card or mobile money details go to them directly and never reach us — we receive only a confirmation that a payment succeeded.

The newsletter

The newsletter is separate from your account, and signing in does not subscribe you to anything. If you subscribe, your address is held by Buttondown, and nothing is sent until you confirm it by email. Every message has a one-click unsubscribe.

Who else sees your data

We use these services to run CeeVi. Each sees only what it needs to do its job:

  • Google — signing in, and Google Analytics for aggregate page-view and traffic measurement (your resume text is never sent to Analytics).
  • Google — processing resume text when you use an AI feature or upload a CV. They do not train models on it.
  • Vercel — hosting, including standard server logs.
  • Redis — storing whether you have Premium.
  • Paystack — taking payments.
  • Buttondown — the newsletter, if you subscribe.

We do not sell your information, and there are no advertising trackers on the site.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to how we use it. In practice we hold very little: deleting your resume is a matter of clearing your browser data, and everything else is your email address attached to an expiry date.

Email hello@cedaret.com and we will act on it. If you are unhappy with how we respond, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use CeeVi after that means the new version applies.
